Professionalism
As a parent, I am always concerned with what is best for my children for their emotional, mental and physical health, and for their education as they enter and advance through school. Because of this, I often reflect on my own performance as a teacher - am I doing my best to prepare OTHER children for their futures? Am I protecting my students emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing? These matters I take seriously, and so I am sure to take professionalism seriously. I always do my best to look and act professionally in all aspects of my job. I dress appropriately, and hold myself to high standard in this area. I am reliable to meet deadlines, turn in work, show up for meetings as they come up, and communicate effectively with my peers, administrators, parents and students. I have valued the opportunity to contact parents when necessary to work together for the benefit of their children. In addition, I have tried to keep a positive rapport with all my students, regardless of behavior, performance, etc. In these ways, I am confident that I have represented my schools well, and have done my part to guide my students on the path to success.
"...I often reflect on my own performance as a teacher - am I doing my best to prepare OTHER children for their futures?"
I plan in the future to continue to develop as an educator and continue to meet the expectations set by the administration, parents, students, as well as the expectations I have for myself.
